Management Training Program to Be a Great GM
Triple Mentoring a Key
ATLANTA, GA, September 20, 2007. Hotel Equities recently launched a leadership program named HELP, Hotel Equities Leadership Program, designed to train candidates for positions in management at the Atlanta-based hotel development and management company. Unique to Hotel Equities in content and format, the program provides a way to help people advance within the company.
HELP includes very intense online, technical and face-to-face training as well as job shadowing. Candidates must learn every department in the company including revenue management, sales, housekeeping management and maintenance.
"In my opinion, HELP is the finest training program in the select service sector of the hotel industry," said Fred Cerrone, President and CEO of Hotel Equities.
HELP is structured as a self-paced program. Most individuals will be able to complete the study and activities within nine months to a year. The present group of candidates meets quarterly for training and every six months for a progress review with Director of Training and Human Resources Tamara Markham.
"This comprehensive program directs each participant to touch every aspect of our business," said Ms. Markham.
Nine HE associates, Operations Managers and Assistant General Managers, participate in HELP at this time. In addition to working with a General Manager at his or her hotel, every participant has contact with both a Brand Team Leader and a mentor who are available for questions and consultation. Participants experience multiple styles of leadership that they can emulate to develop their own style for success.
Triple mentoring, providing training and support from three experienced individuals for each candidate, sets the program apart and provides a key to its success.
"I feel very confident that HELP is providing me with the tools I need to be a great General Manager," said participant Rosa Guerra, Operations Manager, Hampton Inn-Stone Mountain.
