Best Western Listel Whistler Selects SoftBrands
Technology Includes Two-Way Interface for Managing Availability, Rates and Inventory
MINNEAPOLIS, MI, August 7, 2007. SoftBrands, Inc. (AMEX: SBN), a global supplier of enterprise application software, today announced that Best Western Listel Whistler Hotel in Whistler, B.C., Canada has selected SoftBrands' Medallion property management system (PMS) to manage availability, rates and inventory using the Medallion Best Western two-way interface.
"We wanted a PMS that would help us manage our hotel operations and would be easy for our seasonal staff to learn," said Matt Souza, manager at the Listel. "We chose SoftBrands above the other endorsed vendors because of the level of customization that is offered with the Medallion product, as well as the on-site training and the company's strong reputation for customer service and support."
"Medallion is well suited for Best Western properties. Its scalable functionality and ease of use make it a great fit for this market," said Nancy Carle, SoftBrands senior account manager. Carle recently joined SoftBrands from a hospitality industry competitor to lead SoftBrands' sales efforts with Best Western and independent properties. She is based in the SoftBrands hospitality office in Lake Forest, Calif. "SoftBrands' passion for providing superior service and support inspired me to join the company. I am pleased to be part of the SoftBrands team."
"The Medallion PMS is a perfect fit for independent hotels due to its intuitive user interface and rich functionality," said Bob Lowe, vice president of product management, SoftBrands Hospitality. Medallion is a full-featured PMS that offers the ease of use, rich guest data and sophisticated rate controls hoteliers need to help maximize room occupancy and revenue per available room.
Best Western International endorsed the SoftBrands' Medallion PMS in Feb. 2007 following certification of the Medallion Best Western two-way interface. The two-way CRS gateway makes it possible to book or update guest reservations through the Best Western central reservation office, online or through an individual property using real-time hotel availability data for Best Western member properties. The two-way interface provides a smooth flow of information that enables Best Western to sell more effectively, offer better customer service and give customers greater control over their reservations.
SoftBrands Medallion PMS is operational in more than 1,000 hotels worldwide. Medallion is a robust, Microsoft Windows^a-based system that can be customized to meet the specific needs of each property and integrates with leading back-office applications for easy reporting. The system's intuitive "look-and-book" approach to operations is designed for busy hotel staff with little time for training. Available in 27 languages, Medallion offers special features such as seasonal rate structures, family reservations, enhanced guest profiling, travel agent allotments, charge routing and multiple reporting options - all designed to help increase profit per reservation and enhance the guest experience.
