HONG KONG China, August 8, 2007. Mandarin Oriental, Prague has launched an exclusive two-day Treasures of Prague package, priced at EUR 579 per room per night. Featuring a guided tour of the newly revealed cultural riches of Prague Castle, with private limousine transfers, a champagne lunch at a palace, a memorable keepsake and a soothing Oriental foot massage.

Accompanied by an expert private guide, guests are taken on a day-long exploration of what once truly was a city within a city. After visiting the Castle's most spectacular buildings such as the Gothic St. Vitus' Cathedral and the Old Royal Palace, a champagne welcome and private catered lunch await on the terrace of the Lobkowicz Palace on the Castle's eastern side, affording panoramic views of the city; this is followed by a tour of the Palace's spectacular collections. The Palace, the only privately-owned building within the Castle walls, is the ancient domain of the Lobkowicz noble family whose history is closely tied to that of Prague and indeed, the Czech lands.

For seven centuries, the Lobkowicz Princes were important political figures and equally significant patrons of art and music, amassing valuable collections of old master paintings, decorative arts, original musical scores and instruments and rare arms and armour. An installation focusing on music features the manuscripts of several of Beethoven's symphonies dedicated to the 7th Prince Lobkowicz, as well as Mozart's own re-orchestration of Haendel's Messiah. The Princely Collections revives an important cultural site in the heart of Europe by increasing public access to some of the world's greatest works of art.

Prague Castle is the city's premier landmark and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Towering above the city and within walking distance of Mandarin Oriental, Prague, it has served for centuries as the imposing seat of Czech kings and presidents.
