Cayman Ritz Carlton Awarded AAA Diamonds

JULY 31, 2007. The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, has been awarded a total of 14 AAA diamonds in its first hotel and restaurant evaluation by AAA.

The diamonds awarded consist of five diamonds for the resort, five diamonds for Eric Ripert's 'Blue' restaurant and four diamonds for the hotel's '7 Prime Cuts and Sunsets' restaurant.

'Blue' is the first restaurant within the Caribbean to be awarded five diamonds while the resort is only the fourth within the Caribbean to be given such an accolade.

The hotel, spanning 144 acres on the west side of Grand Cayman, has 365 rooms and suites. In addition to the newly awarded restaurants there are another three, plus a La Prairie Spa, Greg Norman designed 9-hole golf course and tennis courts.

The resort also runs the Ambassadors for the Environment program dedicated to entertaining and educating children about the environment whilst staying on the island.

This latest award for the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman is great news for the destination as commented by Don McDougall, Regional Manager, Europe for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, "This rating is well deserved by the Ritz-Carlton and exemplifies the exceptional quality of accommodation and restaurants available on the Cayman Islands - from five star luxury to boutique bed and breakfasts and family friendly resorts."
