The Pacific Asia Travel Association has appointed the representation firm Bryant & Tripptree Ltd. (BTL) as its representative in North America. The appointment, announced at the PATA head office in Bangkok, became effective July 1.
BTL will coordinate PATA's activities in North America through its offices in California and New York. BTL's principals Ms Barbara Bryant and Ms Kathleen Tripptree have extensive experience in tourism and hospitality marketing and management, for organisations such as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Harbour Plaza Hotels & Resorts and the Bal Harbour (Florida) Department of Tourism.
Both executives have a long relationship with PATA. Based in California, Ms Bryant served as Chair of the PATA Southern California Chapter and as Chair of the PATA Chapters Congress 1991 in Bali, where she became the first woman ever to receive the PATA Presidential Award. Based in New York, Ms Tripptree has served as Vice Chair of the PATA New York Chapter.
"We have been impressed with PATA's new directions and initiatives and are very keen to join the Association during this period of dynamism in Asia Pacific tourism," said Ms Bryant.
"We look forward to expanding PATA's footprint in North America and to contributing to the sustainable growth of two-way traffic between North America and Asia Pacific," added Ms Tripptree.
PATA President and CEO Peter de Jong said, "We are delighted that two such experienced professionals have accepted the challenge to grow PATA's North American profile and presence.
