Summit Hotels & Resorts Further Expands Its Luxury Portfolio in Europe with Seven New Properties

EUROPEAN UNION, September 12, 2005. Summit Hotels & Resorts, the luxury international hotel group has announced an expansion into Europe with the addition of seven new properties. This brings the total number of hotels in the portfolio to 115 and includes the groups first ever properties in Amsterdam, Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow.

The signing of the Amsterdam American Hotel in Amsterdam marks Summit Hotels & Resorts' entry into the Dutch market and the signing of the Athens Imperial in Athens and The Golden Gate Hotel in Prague strengthens the group's presence in Greece and the Czech Republic.

The addition of the City Inn Group with its four properties, the City Inn Westminster, the City Inn Bristol, the City Inn Birmingham and the City Inn Glasgow has increased the number of Summit Hotels & Resorts in the UK to ten and created a more marked movement into the provinces with the first ever hotels in Birmingham, Glasgow and Bristol.

Membership is restricted to independently owned and managed, full-service luxury hotels, resorts and spas. Properties must meet and exceed the high operational levels required by the group's quality assurance programme which sets out exacting requirements and standards for each property.

The Amsterdam American Hotel, Amsterdam, Holland

Built in 1902 the Amsterdam American Hotel is located in a listed art nouveau building right in the centre of Amsterdam. Overlooking the Leidseplein with its great restaurants, bars and theatres on one side and the pretty Leidsecanal canal on the other it is, unquestionably one of the best located hotels in the city. Recently renovated, all the bedrooms are unique and still feature original art deco details such as stained glass windows and granite vanity units.

The Golden Gate Hotel, Prague, Czech Republic
