TAMPA, FL, July 23 2007. Dominic Provenzano recently returned to the Tampa Bay area to become the assistant general manager at the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza. Prior to joining the four-diamond rated hotel, Provenzano was the food and beverage director at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel.

The job opening enabled the Michigan native to return to Florida where, earlier in his career, he worked at the Stouffer Hotel near Sea World in Orlando as well at the historic hotel now known as Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg. He helped to reopen the downtown St. Petersburg landmark in 1992 as the Stouffer Vinoy Resort.

After earning a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management, the University of Nevada at Las Vegas graduate furthered his industry education while attending the oldest hotel school in the world, Ecole h^oteli`ere de Lausanne (EHL) in Switzerland, a nation renowned for its prestigious hospitality training programs.

Provenzano has held hotel management jobs throughout the U.S., serving as director of restaurants at the Renaissance Hotel in New York's Times Square, specialty restaurant manager at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, director of food and beverage and assistant manager at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel and director of operations at the Marriott Key Center Hotel in Cleveland.

"I really look forward to building on the success of this hotel and its acclaimed restaurant, PELAGIA Trattoria," said Provenzano. "Since opening three years ago, both have been well received. Now is the time to tweak things a bit and bring them up to a new level."
