InterContinental Bethlehem Re-Opens
BETHLEHEM, September 12, 2005. The InterContinental Bethlehem, "Jacir Palace", is back to business having closed its doors for five years. The hotel is located in the heart of Bethlehem, only five minutes drive from the old city center, the Church of the Nativity and 15 minutes drive from the old city of Jerusalem.
The history of the Jacir palace, which stands with pride on the Jerusalem-Hebron Road, dates back to the 1910, with the return of the Palestinian Jacir family to their homeland Bethlehem. The new millennium saw craftsmen complete the final touches on the Jacir Palace, InterContinental Bethlehem turning it into an exceptional five star hotel.
The Palace's main building was renovated and restored to its original condition the hotel's reception, restaurants, bars and business center. Every effort was put to source the original pieces of furniture and artwork that belonged to the palace. In addition, a two-wing extension was built to accommodate the hotel's 250 rooms ranging from standard, business, club rooms, handicapped, presidential and executive suites, all connected to the palace by air-conditioned corridors and indoor gardens. The extension also includes a health spa, banquet and meeting halls, outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts.
The Jacir Palace offers guests a wide variety of food & beverage outlets that includes Baidar Restaurant, an all day dining restaurant where guests can enjoy the open international buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner while enjoying garden views. Rozana Terrace, set against the charming view of the surrounding mountains offering an array of Middle Eastern and oriental specialties, drinks and Hubbly Bubbly with live entertainment. The Riwaq Courtyard, Al Makan Bar, Zaitouneh Restaurant, Wine Cellar, Abu Nawas Bar and Kheyam Bar complete the array of dining experiences to be enjoyed at InterContinental Bethlehem.
