Bulgari Bali Opens

. October 14, 2008

ROME, Italy, October 9, 2006. Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has opened the second property in their exclusive boutique hotel group. Bulgari defines the height of elegance 160-metres above the Indian Ocean with the opening of a breathtaking 59-villa property in Bali -- one of the world's most exclusive and exotic destinations. The three key elements that distinguish the Bulgari Resort in Bali are its unique location, the blend of traditional Balinese style with dramatic contemporary Italian design, and the variety of services that have all been crafted with the same attention to quality that has always distinguished Bulgari creations.

The Bulgari Resort is located near the village of Pecatu and the stunning clifftop site of the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple, on the island's far southwestern tip.

The Jimbaran Bay and the international airport lie approximately 20 kilometres north of the resort while Kuta, the touristy heart of Bali, is a 40 minute-drive.

Uniquely positioned at more than 15 0metres above the seashore, the resort offers unrivalled views across the Indian Ocean. Nestled between the cliff and the ocean, a 1.5 kilometre long beach is accessible only through the resort's inclined elevator.

Designed by architects Antonio Citterio and Partners, the resort reflects a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Balinese design while conveying the distinctive Bulgari Italian style.

The resort is comprised of 59 ocean-view villas, including 3 two-bedroom villas and the 1,300-sq.metre Bulgari Villa. All accommodations offer a plunge pool and patio with secluded tropical garden, high technology features and an extensive range of amenities.

"Following the great success of our first hotel opened in Milan in 2004, I am very pleased to inaugurate the Bulgari Resort in Bali, one of the most exciting and exclusive destinations in the world thanks to its natural beauty, rich culture and heritage.

I believe that this magnificent resort with its extraordinary location perfectly mirrors and applies to hospitality our concepts of design, elegance and contemporary luxury. It will offer our guests a complete Bulgari lifestyle experience while further underlining the innovative spirit and prestige of the brand all over the world," said Francesco Trapani, Chief Executive Officer, Bulgari.

The Bulgari Hotel, Bali is managed by Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, the joint venture between Bulgari and Marriott International's Luxury Group, utilizing new and proprietary service and operational standards.
