LEXINGTON, KY, June 8, 2009 - With the opening of registration for its 2009 Convention, the National Tour Association has launched its first blog, authored by Convention Chairman Suzanne Slavitter, CTP, of Sports Empire Inc. The blog was created, in part, to assist members in preparing for the new customized Convention format that will be introduced at the Convention in Reno, Nov. 14-18.

"NTA is proud to launch it's first-ever blog to communicate with members in a quick and fun way," said NTA President Lisa Simon, CTP. "This blog answers a need for interaction, dialogue and relevant information in a user-friendly format."

NTA is encouraging its members to make comments and ask questions on the Convention blog. Blog posts also can be shared through a wide range of social media tools, such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and more. Users also can subscribe to the RSS feed, and they can follow along on the newly launched NTA Facebook fan page, http://facebook.dj/nta/.

NTA is using Facebook to connect the NTA community, as well as to share information and give members passionate about the association a forum to talk and engage. In addition, the association has a LinkedIn page for members to pose business questions, seek advice and lay the groundwork for new partnerships.

Through the Convention Blog and other NTA communications vehicles, Chairman Slavitter will help members prepare for the new Convention format. Each week, she will highlight enhancements for this year, business and networking events, as well as entertainment and sponsors.

"The Chairman's Convention blog is just another great initiative introduced this year," said Slavitter. "It plays right into working smarter and continuing to tweak all aspect of our Convention to meet the diverse needs of members. It has been great fun kicking off what I hope will be an annual blog."
