. October 14, 2008

JUNE 25, 2007. IAHI, the Owners' Association of IHG, will offer its exclusive General Manager Academy for the third consecutive year.

The 2007 program will have two sessions - as it did in 2006. The first will take place from September 9-12 and the second will be November 11-14, both at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. This one-of-a-kind, invitation-only program focuses on leadership issues facing the hospitality industry. The General Manager Academy is a collaborative effort between IAHI, IHG, and the Purdue University Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management and the Krannert School of Management Executive Education Programs.

"Response to the General Manager Academy has been so positive over the past two years; we are looking forward to providing it again for our members," says Michael Hoffman, IAHI Chairman and president of Turf Hotels in Albany, New York. "This program provides a hands-on learning experience for general managers to enhance and strengthen their skills and abilities."

This program supports IHG's strategy of assisting its new and existing general managers' growth, retention, and career advancement - as well as improving their leadership skills.

"The General Manager Academy offers a chance for our hoteliers to receive the best possible training and take advantage of lifelong learning," says Steve Porter, IHG President-the Americas.
