Saratoga Polo Retreat Joins Registry Collection
MAY 23, 2007. The Saratoga Polo Retreat, the first polo-themed private residence club is the latest of more than 100 luxury leisure assets to join The Registry Collection program, the world's first and foremost luxury exchange service.
The focal point of the 72-residence resort, slated to begin sales of 1/8 shares this Fall, is the Whitney Field, a historic polo field that dates back to 1898. It is being built on 42.7 acres by Green Fields Development, LLC, a privately held company that owns the Saratoga Polo grounds and operates the Saratoga Polo Association.
The facility, nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks, currently hosts a variety of events year-round including world-class polo, destination weddings, corporate gatherings and major charity galas. The current plans include an expansion of the event facilities to satisfy the popular demand for events in Saratoga Polo's dramatic setting.
"The Saratoga Polo Retreat is an exciting addition to The Registry Collection program," said Kenneth N. May, Chairman and CEO of RCI Global Vacation Networksm. "With its unique focus on polo and thoroughbred racing and high level of services and amenities, the resort further compliments the broad selection of luxury leisure assets that comprise The Registry Collection global portfolio."
In keeping with the historic natural mineral springs and spas of the area, the resort will also feature a full service spa as well as a two-level fitness center, outdoor Jacuzzi and indoor and outdoor pools. Two, three and four bedroom residences, ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet, will utilize natural stone, wood and tile in the classic Adirondack Lodge style.
"We are pleased to be a part of the world's most innovative and service oriented luxury exchange program," said James Rossi, Principal Partner of Green Fields Development, LLC. "The Registry Collection program provides the impeccably high level of VIP concierge services and exclusive travel opportunities we wanted for our owners, and we at Saratoga Polo Retreat look forward to delighting members from other clubs and resorts seeking a unique equestrian and spa experience in a relaxing mountain setting."
The Saratoga Polo Retreat, located within a three hour drive from New York City, Boston, Montreal and Rochester, NY, is slated to open in 2008.
