Fairmont Adds Two RVPs
TORONTO, Canada, May 22, 2007. In an effort to support its growing penetration in Europe, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of two Regional Vice Presidents.
Taking on new responsibilities within the company are Ingo Peters who has been promoted to the position of Regional Vice President and General Manager, Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Hamburg and Xavier Rugeroni who has joined the group in the capacity of Regional Vice President & General Manager, Fairmont Monte Carlo.
With more than 25 years of experience, Peters joins Fairmont Hotels & Resorts from sister brand Raffles Hotels & Resorts. In his new role, Peters will oversee the day-to-day operations of Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, while also supervising the activity at Fairmont St Andrews, Scotland and Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, Switzerland. Over the course of his career, Peters has held a series of progressive management positions with other hotel brands including The Westin Hotel, Copley Plaza Boston, Ritz Carlton, Philadelphia, Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel, California, and the Mandarin Oriental's Phuket Yacht Club, Thailand and Jakarta, Indonesia.
A new addition to Fairmont's management team, Rugeroni most recently served as the Area General Manager at the Le Meridien, Southern France & Monaco. As Regional Vice President & General Manager, Fairmont Monte Carlo, Rugeroni joins Fairmont's famed hotel on the C^ote d'Azur as it prepares to unveil an extensive 42 million euro refurbishment this July. Adding to his duties, Rugeroni will also be responsible for Fairmont's resort collection in Kenya, which the company anticipates branding late 2007 following extensive renovations. Brining over 25 years of experience to his new position, Rugeroni has held various roles over the course of his career including General Manager, The Compleat Angler Marlow Buckinghamshire, U.K., General Manager, The Westbury Hotel Bond Street, London, and General Manager, Le Meridien Penina Golf & Resort Hotel, Algarve, Portugal.
