Worktopia and Travelocity Partner On Group Booking Tool
First to Allow Booking of Hotel Rooms with Meeting Space in One On-Line Session
NEW YORK, NY, October 12, 2006. Worktopia, the global leader in on-demand workspace procurement services, today announced that Travelocity Partner Network is providing a hotel room option to Worktopia's instant meeting space booking services.
Worktopia is a web-based service that allows companies to search, compare and acquire meeting space instantly from a live inventory of hotels and conference and business centers worldwide. By seamlessly integrating with Travelocity's extensive database of travel information and reservation services, Worktopia users can now also book hotel rooms either in the same venue as the meeting space or in other hotels nearby.
"We are pleased to offer meeting planners a better way to save time and gain even greater control of the procurement process," said John Arenas, chief executive officer of Worktopia. "By closely aligning our services with a leading consumer brand like Travelocity, we now provide a more complete offering to planners who only have hours, not days, weeks or months, to bring people together in the right place."
Putting the latest in online technology to work, Worktopia offers planners real-time access to over 5,000 meeting rooms in 1,000 locations through its proprietary automated portal. There is no special training or certification requirement to use Worktopia, and the service is free to end-users and site visitors.
"Worktopia was the first service to offer meeting planners the ability to match their specific requirements with venues, and our new relationships with them will be mutually beneficial for meeting the needs of our customers," said Richard Harris, senior vice president of strategy and distribution for Travelocity. "Our Travelocity Partner Network(SM) team is looking forward to working closely with the Worktopia team as they continue to rapidly expand their network and services."
In addition to the automated service, the Worktopia call center support team facilitates transaction fulfilment and provides quality assurance for the customer experience.
