New Orleans Marriott Announces $38Mil Renovation

NEW ORLEANS, LA, May 4, 2007. The New Orleans Marriott is pleased to announce its largest and most comprehensive renovation ever, encompassing virtually every aspect of the hotel and totaling nearly $38 million. The transformation, started in 2005 with expected completion in the late summer of 2007, includes significant enhancements to all accommodations including suites, lobby, restaurant, concierge lounge, meeting space, technology upgrades and more. The massive eight-figure makeover is adding a fresh and contemporary look and feel to the guestrooms as well as most of the public spaces and is raising the bar on nearly every inch of the property and the leisure and group market hotel experience. The New Orleans Marriott is one of the city's leading hotels with 1,290 guest rooms and over 80,000 square feet of meeting space housing the largest hotel ballroom in Louisiana, at an impressive 27,500 square feet.

With the Crescent City in a period of rebirth, the New Orleans Marriott is at the forefront of the city's renewal and its travel industry with millions in investments pouring into the hotel. Below is a highlight of the noteworthy developments:

o Lobby - The lobby's renovation will include a heightened sense of arrival with a new lobby lounge, revamped front desk configuration with self check-in kiosks, enhanced guest-friendly bell and concierge stands, additional floor space, improved sightlines, modernized d'ecor and more.

o The changes will also include a Starbucks Coffee and a FedEx/Kinkos off the lobby.

o Restaurant - The renovation of the hotel's dining options will offer improved interiors, expanded seating, a separate room for private functions and a completely revamped menu incorporating New Orleans, Cajun, French and Creole cuisine based on a unique "grill" concept.

o Guestrooms - In 2005 the first phase of the hotel's renovation began with a complete update of guestrooms. In 2007, all 54 suites have been revamped and the changes will include both case and soft good.

o Concierge Lounge - The completely renovated Concierge Lounge now boasts multiple private work stations, complimentary internet and new chic d'ecor.

o Grand Ballroom/Pre-function space - With the group market in mind, the transformation of the hotel's function space will include a complete refurbishment of the Grand Ballroom, break-out rooms and foyer areas.

o Fitness Facility - The completed health club overhaul includes all new top-of-the-line equipment with cardio machines complete with individual TVs.

o Windows - All new ecologically and energy efficient Low E, double insulated glass windows will be added to all rooms and public spaces boosting the hotel's position as an environmentally friendly facility.

In addition to the aforementioned renovations, the New Orleans Marriott will enjoy other remarkable changes including a new, state-of-the-art escalator and elevator system, a restoration of the parking garage and more.
