MICROS Offers Direct Connection to Expedia
Eliminates Need for Switch Services
NEUSS, Germany. February 14, 2008. MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce a powerful new XML-based direct connection between Expedia(R) and MICROS's "myfidelio.net" service, which is powered by the OPERA Reservation System. This connection is then pushed through to any of MICROS's Property Management Systems (PMS) including OPERA PMS, Fidelio Suite 8 in Europe, Fidelio Version 6, and Fidelio Version 7. Sunstar Hotels in Switzerland is the first customer to deploy this powerful solution.
This unique and innovative solution enables Sunstar Hotels to manage all rates, inventory and availability from its MICROS Property Management System and to receive reservations directly into its reservation system utilizing myfidelio.net. With this new direct connection to Expedia, the Sunstar Hotels will benefit from a single point of rates and inventory management, saving substantial labor hours typically required for manual data entry work.
The MICROS and Expedia connection will handle directly contracted net rates. Myfidelio.net hotels and hotel group partners are now able to manage such room inventory in an automated manner according to their need. This direct connection to Expedia allows hotels to react quickly to changes in demand.
