Staybridge Opens 125th Property

FEBRUARY 25, 2008. Staybridge Suites has opened its 125th property on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Fort Wayne, Ind. This is the first Staybridge Suites in Fort Wayne, and is the 8th overall IHG property in the Fort Wayne market, along with a Candlewood Suites and six Holiday Inn Express hotels.
The $9 million, 58,000 sq.-ft. property began construction in June of 2007, and it has a total of 84 suites (50 studios, 31 one-bedrooms, and 3 two-bedrooms). The hotel has approximately 20 full-time-equivalent employees.
The hotel owners were committed to managing waste output during construction, and 70% to 80% of the waste was recycled.
