Sheraton Stonebriar Opens
WHITE PLAINS, NY, March 3, 2008. Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel on March 1. The first phase of construction is now complete on this new upscale hotel, which is located in the fast-growing, north Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas. Just five minutes from Plano's Legacy Park development and Frisco's Hall Office Park, the new hotel will be the perfect spot to network and do business in north Dallas.
The Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel will be a welcome addition to Stonebriar Commons on Legacy, a premier, multi-use development that also includes Starwood's Westin Stonebriar Resort, restaurants, spa services, high-end shops and office space. Guests at the Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel will also enjoy playing privileges at The Westin Stonebriar Resort's Tom Fazio golf course. Downtown Dallas is just 25 minutes away, while both the DFW International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport are 30 minutes from the hotel. The hotel is also close to a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment in Frisco and downtown Dallas, including Six Flags Over Texas, the Dallas Aquarium and sporting events at the Dr. Pepper Star Center.
"Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel will meet the growing demand for upscale lodging in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex by creating a cozy, interactive environment that will appeal to both business and leisure travelers," said Valerie Mortimer, director of sales & marketing. "Sheraton knows its guests expect a high level of comfort and service, and this new hotel delivers with its spacious accommodations, warm d'ecor and updated technology."
Sheraton Stonebriar will open with 119 rooms, 1,000 square feet of event space, a three-meal restaurant and bar and fully-equipped fitness center. The second phase of construction will create a 250-room property with 27,000 square feet of meeting space and a rooftop, oasis pool. Construction of phase two is targeted to begin in the fall of 2008 and is scheduled for completion by the beginning of 2010, according to Valerie Mortimer, director of sales & marketing for the Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel and its next-door, four-diamond Westin Stonebriar Resort. Both Stonebriar properties are located near the corner of Highway 121 and the North Dallas Tollway.
Both also are locally owned by Ernie Blank and Peter Streit and managed by the same team that has guided the four-diamond Westin Stonebriar Resort since its opening in 2000. Most recently, The Westin Stonebriar Resort was named the Westin brand's 2007 guest satisfaction leader among the its more than 150 worldwide hotels and resorts, the third time the property has earned this ranking. It also is a two-time winner of Westin's North American Hotel of the Year Award and Successful Meetings Magazine's prestigious Pinnacle Award.
"The Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel presents individual business travelers and smaller groups alike with a more intimate lodging experience, but with the same service standards our guests have come to expect at The Westin Stonebriar Resort," said Ms. Mortimer.
Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel will showcase the latest Sheraton innovations to its lobby and guest rooms, as part of Starwood's recent revitalization of this iconic brand. In the dynamic lobby, guests can relax with fellow travelers, pop open their laptops, or grab a snack in a space that is both energetic and interactive. Guests can also stay connected via the Link@Sheraton, a communications hub that delivers the technology services guests expect while on the road, allowing them to check their email, research local attractions and print boarding passes.
Guestrooms and suites at the Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel feature Sheraton's signature Sweet Sleeper II Bed, high-speed Internet connectivity, flat-panel HDTV's and spacious work desks with ergonomic desk chairs. The hotel's club level includes complimentary breakfast, evening hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.
"The entire Sheraton experience is designed to make guests feel like they belong the moment they enter the hotel," added Ms. Mortimer.
The city of Frisco is undergoing a construction boom, with more than 1,000 guestrooms in various stages of planning, more than doubling the 926 guestrooms currently in the area. However, the Sheraton Stonebriar Hotel and its sister property, The Westin Stonebriar Resort, are the only upscale options with resort amenities in the heart of this north Dallas community, an area home to world-class shopping, sports and entertainment venues. Both properties also provide guests with access to spa services and championship golf.
