Carlson Adds 11 Properties to Global Portfolio

APRIL 16, 2008. The new hotels include one Regent hotel and six Country Inn & Suites By Carlson(SM) hotels in the United States, three Radisson properties, with two in South America and one in Canada, and one Radisson SAS resort in the Ukraine.

Carlson's global lodging portfolio totals 986 hotels with 148,759 rooms in 71 countries. Carlson hotel brands also include Park Plaza(R) Hotels & Resorts and Park Inn(R).

Regent Hotels & Resorts

With the new Regent Bal Harbour, Regent Hotels & Resorts has opened the first hotel in Florida's exclusive Bal Harbour Village in more than 50 years. The hotel, located on the northeastern end of Bal Harbour Village, is bordered by Baker's Haulover Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean, with nearly 750 feet of pristine beachfront. Featuring world-class amenities and services on a spectacular five-acre site, the Regent Bal Harbour offers easy access from both Miami and Fort Lauderdale International airports. Innovatively modern in design with a curved shape and glass exteriors, this 17-story hotel elegantly combines refined and peaceful contemporary interiors, unique custom made artwork and an exquisite ambiance.

The Regent Bal Harbour offers 124 Studio and Executive Suites., each enhanced by spacious modern perspectives opening to large terraces with panoramic views. 1 Bleu, The Regent's signature fine dining establishment will benefit from a unique partnership with the legendary Le Cordon Bleu, making this only the second Le Cordon Bleu restaurant collaboration in North America. Combining the Le Cordon Bleu philosophy of "Art de Vivre" (the art of living) with the world-class service, style and sophistication for which Regent is known, this partnership offers unprecedented levels of distinctive dining in Bal Harbour Village. Boasting an awe-inspiring design with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean, 1 Bleu is the epitome of panache and elegance.

Additional openings worldwide in 2008 will include The Regent Boston at Battery Wharf, which will feature a destination waterfront restaurant from Michelin rated chef Guy Martin (June 2008), and The Regent Maldives, a 861,500-square-foot island resort in the Indian Ocean (October 2008).

Country Inns & Suites By Carlson

With the addition of six Country Inn & Suites By Carlson locations, the brand currently consists of 444 hotels and 35,557 guestrooms. All of the new properties are located in the U.S., and include:

o The 61-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Wytheville, Va.

o The 74-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Peoria North in Peoria, Ill., owned by Petersen Companies, LLC.

o The Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Athens, Ga., with 81 guestrooms.

o The 81-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Orangeburg, S.C. owned by C & S Hotels, LLC.

o The 119-room Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Natchez, Miss. owned by Broadway Hospitality, LLC.

o The Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in Cordele, Ga., with 107 guestrooms, owned by Perimeter Partners CIS, LLC.

Each hotel features the brand's newly enhanced interior design package that was developed with input from guests and franchisees to evolve the brand and ensure it meets the needs of today's travelers. The new design highlights a more transitional and residential style, features a contemporary color palate throughout the hotel, and includes upgraded bedding in the guest rooms. In addition to the upgraded design, each hotel includes traditional brand design elements, including hardwood floors and a fireplace in the grand lobby.

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts

Located along the picturesque banks of the Black Sea, the four-star Radisson SAS Hotel, Alushta is the perfect embodiment of classic, elegant style. Built in 1913, the hotel is renowned as one of Alushta's finest architectural monuments and merges its historic charms with modern-day conveniences. Throughout the decades, the hotel has played an important historical role serving as a hospital for soldiers in World Wars I & II, home to Alushta's first museum and was a popular sanatorium thanks to its open verandas and seaside location.

Marrying classic design from centuries past with the ease of modern technologies, the hotel offers 63 beautifully-kept guestrooms including Business Class rooms, Junior Suites and suites. All rooms come with excellent amenities such as free high-speed Internet access. The hotel is planning an expansion that will add 150 more guest rooms that are estimated to be operational by first quarter 2010. The resort features several dining options including Aluston, offering a tempting a la carte menu of European dishes alongside local specialties, and fresh pastries, ice creams and light snacks at Patisserie Vanille.

Radisson Hotels & Resorts

Located in Miraflores, Lima's premier corporate and nightlife district, the 105-room Radisson Decapolis Hotel Miraflores is Lima's newest upscale hotel. The hotel combines a chic, modern design with Peruvian inspired art, lively atmosphere, and all the amenities, comforts, and services sure to please business and leisure travelers alike. The hotel features Miso restaurant, offering gourmet, fusion-style cuisine and a stunning design with ocean views. The hotel also provides flexible, well-appointed meeting space for up to 60 people, including the rooftop ocean view pool area that is available for outdoor receptions.

Another new opening in Lima, Peru, the Radisson Hotel San Isidro, features 38 rooms and suites in the heart of Lima's business and shopping district. The hotel is only 7 miles from Jorge Chavez International Airport, and is close to a variety of public transportation options including buses, minibuses and taxi service. The Radisson Hotel San Isidro offers the Zen Restaurant, with an extensive international and local menu, as well as the stylish bar in the lobby. All guestrooms have coffee makers, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, modem hookup, and Cable TV.

The 90-room Radisson Hecla Resort on Hecla Island in Manitoba is Radisson's newest property in Canada. This luxurious resort brings the outdoors in where guests can conduct business, enjoy nature, maintain a healthy lifestyle or simply relax. Set on Hecla Island in beautiful Lake Winnipeg, this 90-room facility offers a variety of services, including fine and family dining restaurants, ample meeting space, championship 18-hole golf course and outdoor nature adventures. The resort has its own naturalist on staff to lead outdoor activities. A full-service spa and a 3-story water park with hydrotherapy pools are set to open later this year. All guestrooms are smoke free and a majority of the rooms feature Sleep Number(R) beds with down-filled duvets, complimentary high speed Internet access, 32" LCD flat-screen televisions with movies and satellite programming, generous workstations, in-room microwave and mini fridge, coffee and tea.

With the addition of four new Radisson properties, Radisson's global portfolio currently includes 400 hotels with 87,911 guestrooms.
