Kite Properties Starts Oak Tree Relocation
Clearing Way for SpringHill Suites
VERO BEACH, FL, May 29, 2008. Vero Beach developer Kite Properties, LLC has started what may be the largest Live Oak tree relocation project in the history of Indian River County, Florida to make way for an 83-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotel. Kite Properties will relocate 34 Live Oaks that presently stand on property designated for the new hotel. They will also donate two specimen trees to McKee Botanical Garden. Hayslip Landscaping of Ft. Pierce, Florida, is performing the tree relocation.
Atlanta-based Hotel Equities will manage the new SpringHill Suites-Vero Beach. The tree relocation opens space for the hotel building itself but still provides a beautiful setting for the property.
"These are beautiful trees that have been here for 50 to 150 years," said Keith Kite, Managing Member of Kite Properties, LLC. "We want to be good stewards of the land and we believe that by relocating the trees we can preserve them and make sure they are here for years to come."
An all-suites hotel, the SpringHill Suites provides guests with 25% larger rooms that feature free high-speed wireless Internet access and phones with data ports and voice mail. Amenities also include HDTV and daily complimentary breakfast.
Restaurant, bank, retail and office outparcel sites with boulevard frontage are available adjacent to the hotel.
