Pieter van der Hoeven joins Outrigger as GM Phuket, Thailand
HONOLULU, HI, June 10,2008. Darren Edmonstone, vice president of asset management planning for Outrigger Enterprises Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Pieter van der Hoeven to the position of General Manager-Phuket, Thailand.
In this newly created position, Mr. van der Hoeven is responsible for the development and implementation of hotel operations for Outrigger Enterprises Group in Phuket, Thailand, which includes the luxurious five-star Outrigger Serenity Terraces Resort, Phuket, being built at Rawai Beach along the south east coast of Phuket and set to open in early 2009, and the recently announced West Sands Outrigger Resort, Phuket, a new luxury 400-room full service hotel being built as part of in an exciting new, mixed use resort at Mai Khao Beach on Phuket's western coast, set to open in early 2010.

Mr. van der Hoeven joins Outrigger with a long career in hospitality that includes three years with the Six Senses Resort & Spa Management and Development Company, where he was General Manager for the Evason Hua Hin Resort and Evason Hideaway at Hua Hin, Thailand, and Evason Hideaway at Ana Mandara in Vietnam. Prior to this, Mr. van der Hoeven spent five years with The Peninsula Bangkok, with earlier management positions in his native Australia with Hyatt in Melbourne and Adelaide, and at the Peninsula Hong Kong.
While studying for his Bachelor of Management at the University of South Australia, Mr. van der Hoeven gained hospitality work experience at The Terrace Inter-Continental Adelaide and The Adelaide Convention Centre. He also found time to perform the honorary role of Director of Public Relations for AIESEC - South Australia, a wholly student-run organization which sits on the United Nations representing the youth voice of the world.
