Mel Hatchard Appointed as Onity's Managing Director of EMEA
ATLANTA, GA. July 10, 2008. Onity has announced the appointment of Mel Hatchard to the position of managing director of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Jointly based at Onity's UK and Onity's San Sebastian facility, Mel will be in charge of managing Onity's EMEA sales, operations and functions. He will report to Mark Gordon, president of Onity. Onity, one of the world's leading providers of electronic locking solutions, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
Prior to joining Onity's management team, Mel was the EMEA deputy managing director for Vicon Industries. As deputy managing director, he was responsible for their Spain, France and Middle East divisions. Under his strategic direction, Vicon sustained a pattern of growth and increased year over year profitability.
