Global Hotel Alliance Empowers Members With MICROS
OCTOBER 27, 2006. MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), a newly established hotel alliance based in Geneva, Switzerland, has signed a technology service agreement with MICROS for product distribution and technology services.
"The concept of Global Hotel Alliance was inspired by the success of global airline alliances," stated Christopher Hartley, Chief Executive of GHA at the contract signing ceremony. "Well established hotel brands have joined forces to provide the art of distinguished hospitality with local flavor, knowledge and cutting edge technology."
Mr. Hartley continues, "Having a global sales & marketing network and call centers are not good enough in today's highly competitive environment. Real- time distribution of inventory combined with rate maximization and personalized customer care across all points of sale and service is part of the plan for GHA. Customer centric deployment of technology that allows the hotelier to gain the right support in terms of decision-making information while being very cost effective is the goal."
"In order to produce the best product one requires the best ingredients," adds Mr. Hartley. "MICROS is the global market leader in hospitality automation with more than 20,000 hotels using its Property Management Systems. MICROS is also the only vendor that can provide a truly integrated solution rather than an interfaced model based on multiple design and technology models. Being able to leverage current investments in MICROS technology combined with additional product and service offerings through GHA, is a very rewarding commercial and technical proposition for small to medium sized hotel chains around the world. GHA will initially offer its members the most advanced product distribution tools available today including connectivity to the MICROS Property Management Systems and/or Central Systems before deploying global customer care/loyalty programs and sales force automation."
"We are honored that Global Hotel Alliance expressed such a vote of confidence for MICROS and we are very pleased to be able to support the concept of such an alliance with our products and services," stated Tom Giannopoulos, Chairman and CEO of MICROS Systems Inc.
