Benchmark Appoints Alex White Director of Recruitment
HOUSTON, TX, September 10, 2008. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Alex White as director of recruitment for the leading hospitality management company. John Wood, vice president human resources, made the announcement.
"Alex brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to Benchmark's Human Resources operation at the Home Office, which he has gained over the past 15 years," said Mr. Wood. "We welcome him to our team!"
Mr. White was most recently the director of human resources for Hotel Contessa, Benchmark Hospitality's Personal Luxury HotelTM located on the famed Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. Previous to this, he served as opening director of human resources and property operations for the acclaimed Lajitas Resort, a 25,000-acre private estate in West Texas. During his tenure at the resort and in its second year of operation, the property achieved both the Mobil Four Star and Small Leading Hotels of the World designations.
Mr. White also served as senior recruiter for the Harrah's Rincon Hotel & Casino near San Diego, California. As a member of the property's opening team, he was responsible for the recruitment and hiring efforts for 1,500 employees. During his career, White has also worked at properties affiliated with the Hilton and Marriott brands.
Alex White holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from Mississippi State University. He and has family are relocating to The Woodlands.
