Eco Inn Hires Kevin Swanson as F&B Manager
Swanson will support Chef Kaldrovich in delivering an upscale Maine culinary experience
CAPE ELIZABETH, ME, September 30, 2008. On the heels of completing a multi million dollar renovation, Inn by the Sea takes another step to further position itself as the leading luxury beach destination in Maine for leisure and business travel with the appointment of Kevin Swanson as Food and Beverage Manager. Swanson is an industry veteran with expertise in overseeing high end restaurant and catering services.
"With more than a decade of food and beverage experience overseeing upscale events and catering services Kevin has demonstrated exceptional leadership and creativity, " said Inn by the Sea General Manager Sara Masterson. "Kevin is an outstanding addition to the staff and will help Chef Kaldrovich take the Maine culinary experience, in the restaurant and for corporate events, to the next level."
A native of Wells, Maine, and graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Swanson served most recently as Operations Manager for Wolfgang Puck Catering in Los Angeles, training and supervising over 200 banquet butlers for the Hollywood & Highland Grand Ballroom and off site events. He also worked with the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences who produce the annual Academy Awards. Previously he helped direct large scale special events for the Los Angeles Music Center, L.A. Opera and the L.A. Philharmonic as well as working on PGA Golf Tournaments, the Ryder Cup and US Open tournaments all over the country.
One of Swanson's first roles at the inn will be to help oversee Portland's inaugural wine festival, Harvest on the Harbor's pinnacle event- "Gala by the Sea" on October 25. Harvest on the Harbor is a three day celebration of Maine food and international wines from October 23-25. Inn by the Sea will host the festival's closing black tie, five course gourmet dinner with wine parings prepared by the inn's chef Mitchell Kaldrovich and two James Beard award winners, David Pasternack and Sam Hayward. On Friday October 24 Swanson will also help supervise a six course wine dinner at Inn by the Sea.
