Horseshoe Bay Resort Airport Opens for Night Flyers

. November 25, 2008

HORSESHOE BAY, TX, November 25, 2008. The Horseshoe Bay Resort Airport and Jet Center is now accessible for flyers to arrive and depart at night, as a result of the successful installation of High Intensity Runway Lighting (HIRL). Adding convenience for resort members and guests, the HIRL system includes precision approach lighting, runway end identifier lights, lighted distance remaining signs and taxiway markers.

"We are delighted to see our hard work over the past two years in action," said Jordan Jaffe, president of Comtran International, the aviation business operated at Horseshoe Bay Resort. "The new lighting system allows travelers increased flexibility when planning their flights into the resort, as they no longer have to reschedule their meetings or recreation to fly within the confines of daylight."

Horseshoe Bay Resort Airport and Jet Center includes a terminal building housing a passenger and crew lounge, fueling services and resort transportation. The 6,000-foot runway is one of the largest private airstrips in the state and can accommodate all personal and business aircraft up to a Regional Jetliner. The full service FBO has ample surface parking and hangar space is available.

Within minutes of touch down, travelers can enjoy an abundance of recreational activities at the 7,000-acre resort including three Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf courses, an 18-hole Bermuda grass putting course, full-service spa and fitness center, tennis courts, seven dining options, four pools, a full-service marina, and more.
