Niles Harris Named GM of Sheraton Atlanta
NOVEMBER 26, 2008. Noted hospitality industry veteran Niles Harris has been named general manager of the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Atlanta just steps from Peachtree Street. He is responsible for overseeing all operations of the hotel, which is one of Atlanta's largest meeting and convention hotels with 760 guest rooms and suites, and 90,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The Sheraton Atlanta Hotel is a consistent recipient of the meetings industry's highest honors, including Meetings & Conventions magazine's prestigious "Gold Key Award," Corporate & Incentive Travel magazine's coveted "Award of Excellence," and ConventionSouth magazine's "Readers' Choice Award."
A 25-year hospitality industry veteran, Harris most recently was president of his own company, The Hotel Concierge, which develops and licenses cutting-edge Web-based software for hotels, luxury residential complexes, and office buildings. Prior to that, he served as Area Director of Operations of the Southeast for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, and was based in Atlanta. Previous positions include serving as the Area Director of Operations for the Northeast for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, General Manager for Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta, Hotel Manager of the venerable Essex House Hotel on Central Park South in New York City, and Executive Assistant Manager for Hotel Nikko Atlanta in Buckhead. Harris has also held executive positions with Omni Hotels as well as independent luxury resorts and hotels throughout the country.
