Launch of New International Hotel Management Company

NOVEMBER 3, 2006. Gregg Pearson, Senior Vice President of RIM Hospitality announced that he will be leaving RIM to launch Newport Creek Hospitality, an international hotel management company with headquarters in Walnut Creek, California.

A respected veteran in the industry with over 22 years of experience, Gregg was the Regional Director of Franchise Operations at Starwood Hotels and Resorts. He joined Rim Hospitality where he was involved in all aspects of operations with emphasis on business and organizational development.

"The timing is impeccable with critical partnerships now in place and incredible opportunities coming our way", he added. Admired for his ability to develop significant relationships, to inspire his team to perform at their optimal level, coupled with his visionary planning and passion for the industry, it will be an understatement to say that NHC is destined for success.

Gregg's love affair with the industry began as a Front Desk Clerk at a small Boutique hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. The romance blossomed while he trotted around the globe and worked his way up at Interstate Hotels, Grand Heritage Hotels, Westmont Hospitality, Tarsadia Hotels and Rim Hospitality. This passionate journey included working with major brands like Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn and prestigious independent hotels such as the famous Sunset Marquis Hotel, the Mondrian, and the LeParc Hotel in West Hollywood, and the Horton Grand Hotel at the famed Gas Lamp Quarter. Gregg's career continued to flourish while managing the Pacific Islands Club Resorts in Guam and Saipan. Also at the Fairways and Bluewater Resort in Boracay, Philippines, he and his team hosted the famed Johnnie Walker Tournament attended by golf legendaries Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, Jesper Parnevik, Ernie Els, and others.

Gregg earned his CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) Certificate through the American Hotel and Lodging Association and was a recipient of various scholarships while studying hotel management at Brigham Young University in Hawaii. Beyond the hotel walls, he is a spark of light in his community as an active Rotarian, a member of his Church and an appointee to the Antioch Economic Development commission. His wife, Joy and their three beautiful children bring endless joy to his life.

As the President/ CEO of the new company, Newport Creek Hospitality, Gregg proudly expressed that other hoteliers and international professionals have enthusiastically joined him in this endeavor. The celebrated team brings to NCH over 100 years of proven experience and expertise in the hotel industry and corporate environments. Newport Creek Hospitality will concentrate its presence in the Pacific Region. Exciting projects are in the works and announcements will be made towards the beginning of the year.
