. January 22, 2009

JANUARY 22, 2009 - Jolie Quest Hotels and Resorts, the new Los Angeles-based hotel management and development firm, has completed the full renovation of a contemporary mountain lodge in South Lake Tahoe and an exterior renovation of a historic hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. With the acquisition of the Park Tahoe Inn in South Lake Tahoe and the Peery Hotel in Salt Lake City, Jolie Quest has taken the first step toward becoming one of the most innovative players in the country's lodging industry.

Jolie Quest is headed by Gary Peterson, the owner and CEO of Opal Capital, one of Southern California's leading real estate investment and management firms. Jolie Quest was formed in August, 2007 and purchased the two properties in September, 2007. Despite a troubled economy, Peterson believes the travel and lodging industry remain relatively strong and is optimistic that the warm charm, high-tech amenities and superb location of both properties will assure future success.

"Both of these hotels will benefit from excellent locations," he said. "The South Lake Tahoe property will draw skiers and snowboarders who drive in from Sacramento and the Bay Area, while the historic and well-appointed Peery hotel located in the heart of Salt Lake City will be popular with business travelers as well as tourists visiting the many downtown attractions and Utah's outstanding ski resorts."

In South Lake Tahoe, Jolie Quest has completed a top-to-bottom makeover of the Park Tahoe Inn, adding new bathroom tile and fixtures, fresh carpeting and drapes and new Tempur-pedic beds. The exterior, which resembles a rustic alpine lodge, has also been upgraded with a resurfaced parking area, fresh paint, new fencing, new pool decks, lighting and landscaping. Inside, the Park Tahoe Inn offers guests all the amenities of a modern hotel, including flat panel television and wireless Internet throughout the lodge.

Lake Tahoe is one of the world's premier winter playgrounds, with at least 300 days of sun and more than 200 inches of snow per year. Lake Tahoe was named the "No. 1 Travel Destination in the U.S." and the "No. 10 Destination Worldwide" by TripAdvisor, the online travel review site. This 116-room lodge, located within walking distance of the Heavenly Ski resort gondola, is sure to be a favorite among skiers and snowboarders. Guests need only walk four blocks to visit Nevada's casinos, just across the state line. The Park Tahoe Inn was originally built in 1956 and expanded in 1966.

In Salt Lake City, Jolie Quest has begun renovating the Peery Hotel, the only hotel in Utah listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The 73-room brick building was originally built in 1910 and has eight different room styles.

During the renovation, crews restored the original windows and repainted the hotel a rich plum color with white trim. The regal and venerable hotel now sports new black awnings, a new fitness center and a new business 'lounge' with comfortable seating and a copier, scanner and printer. Wireless internet will be available to all guests.

Inside the Peery Hotel, guests can enjoy new Tempur-pedic beds, 400-thread-count linens, stylish duvets and fresh, new towels. Jolie Quest will begin renovating the rest of the interior this year, starting with the lobby.

Since hosting the Olympic Winter Games in 2002, Salt Lake City has become an international city with gleam and promise. The Peery Hotel stands in the heart of the renewal, within walking distance to the Salt Palace Convention Center, Temple Square and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Energy Solutions Arena and the Family History Library.
