Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort Scores Big on Cond'e Nast Traveler's 2005 Readers' Choice A
VANUA LEVU, Fiji - October 21, 2005. Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort, the award-winning, five-star property acclaimed as one of the world's leading vacation destinations, announces it received the highest score (92) of any resort in Fiji in Cond'e Nast Traveler's 2005 Readers' Choice Awards. Not only does this score make it the top resort in Fiji, but the rating also makes Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort the only resort in the entire South Pacific Region, including Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti and Fiji, to make the cut on this coveted list. The Readers' Choice award follows another prestigious honor awarded just two months ago, when the resort received the No. 1 ranking in Cond'e Nast Traveler's Green List for 2005, which recognizes outstanding examples of ecotourism.
"We are thrilled to receive the highest score of any hotel and resort in the South Pacific, surpassing those of many larger, widely known properties in Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti and Fiji," said Michael Freed, managing partner of the Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort and Post Ranch Inn, which itself is rated the No. 3 US hotel on this year's list. "It's a tribute to the amazing guest experience that our staff provides. We have put a lot of energy into our property in recent years, and it's great to see the response."
This is the 18th annual Cond'e Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards. This year's survey boasts the highest responses and scores ever in each category. With nearly 28,000 travelers voting, the lists show greater global variety and depth.
