'PTAC MAGIC' Launched by Hospitality Contractors Minnesota
MARCH 6, 2009 - Hospitality Contractors Minnesota announced today that it is launching its new, 'PTAC MAGIC brand, a 'specialty' HVAC contracting service that will cater to hotel owners nationwide.
PTAC MAGIC specializes in the sales, installation and steam cleaning of packaged terminal air conditioning (PTAC) units, targeting properties that have 50 to 300 rooms. PTAC recycling is also available in several states.
'There's a real need for this service right now, and the ongoing call for higher indoor air quality standards and energy conservation will only increase demand in the future' said David Triemert, President, of Hospitality Contractors Minnesota.
'Even though occupancy rates are at a low and capital expenditures are being put off to preserve cash, hotel operators can reduce utility costs significantly, and improve their image by having their dirty, energy inefficient and obsolete PTACS cleaned or replaced', Triemert added. 'If a hotelier wants to make 'big-bang-for-the-buck' improvements to a property, begin with cleaning or replacing the PTACS. It will give their bottom line, and 'guests' a breath of fresh air'.
Hospitality Contractors Minnesota first cut its teeth on PTAC replacement after Hurricane Wilma wreaked havoc in South Florida, October 2005. Triemert was hired to replace several hundred PTAC's for a hotel chain. Every room was occupied at the time, most filled wall-to-wall with the personal belongings of the displaced storm victims, adding to the usual concern for guest safety, privacy, and security.
'On our first project, we lacked an effective strategy in the early hours, but by lunch time we were clipping along quite well', Triemert said. 'So good in fact that I began timing the guys and by the end of the day we were able to open a room, replace the PTAC, clean up and close the door behind us in under three minutes'!
Triemert then went on to say that a hotel maintenance worker commented to him and his crew the next morning while preparing a continental breakfast, 'You guys swap out those air conditioners faster than I can toast a bagel'. Hence, the company motto, 'PTACS Replaced Faster Than You Can Toast A Bagel'.
