PhoCusWright Selects AboutAnywhere.com as Demonstrator at Travel Innovation Summit on November 17
MIAMI, FL, March 11, 2009 - Ashwin Kamlani, CEO of AboutAnywhere.com, operator of the world's only free online distribution network for the hotel industry, has been selected to participate in PhoCusWright's prestigious Travel Innovation Summit in Orlando, FL on November 17, 2009. The Summit is the second of its kind by PhoCusWright, showcasing innovators from around the world whose businesses focus on travel planning, purchasing and trending.
A few carefully selected companies will be showcasing the travel industry's most innovative Web and mobile-based solutions. Participants and attendees alike are guaranteed a very informative session, with valuable opportunities to network, to sell their products and/or services, and to partner with other members of the travel and hospitality industry.
The attendees of The Travel Innovation Summit carefully review and judge each demonstration and select companies to participate in the high profile Center Stage portion of The PhoCusWright Conference. Each finalist is allotted "Five Minutes of Fame" during which time they go on stage, and have the opportunity to once again demonstrate their product/service and be judged by a panel of industry experts. Last year's Center Stage demonstrators were Home&Abroad, TripIt, Triporati, Wandrian Inc., Yapta.com, and Interactive MOBILE @dvertising LLC -- also named "Best in Show."
Mr. Kamlani is expected to discuss AboutAnywhere.com's controversial commission-free model in detail and what its impact on the hospitality industry will be, and already has been in the short time since the model's unveiling earlier this year. In recent weeks the Company has announced several distribution agreements with major hotel chains, and continues to grow their portfolio of independent hotels through their automated Free Profile tool.
