Inlet Tower Welcomes 2009 Iditarod Mushers

Downtown Anchorage Hotel Hosts Meet and Greet with Jeff King and Mitch Seave

ANHORAGE. AK, March 11, 2009 - Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites recently hosted a Meet and Greet and booking signing with professional mushers Jeff King, recognized as the "Winningest Musher in the World" and Mitch Seavey, winner of the 2004 Iditarod. The mushers and their teams stayed at the Anchorage hotel before setting off on this year's Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

During the March 6 event at Inlet Tower, several of the sled dogs were present while Mr. Seavey and Mr. King spent time answering questions and getting to know their race fans. Both mushers were also available to sign their newly released books.

Mr. King is the author of Cold Hands, Warm Heart, his book featuring autobiographical short stories about life in Alaska as well as his passion for dogs and the sport of mushing. The book includes incredible artwork created by his wife, Donna Gates King.

Mr. Seavey's book, Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way, explores the world of mushing in his unique and humorous style, touching on subjects from training and breeding to nutrition and equipment.

Mr. King and Mr. Seavey were in Anchorage for the ceremonial start of the 2009 Iditarod which kicked off on Saturday, March 7. Two of 67 total participants in this year's 1,149-mile race across Alaska's wilderness, they are seasoned professionals in the mushing circuit and expectations are high for both mushers.
