Bistro Z Appoints James Rosenbauer New Exec Chef
Doubletree in Tarrytown
TARRYTOWN, NY, March 19, 2009 - Bistro Z, the upscale modern American bistro at the Doubletree Hotel in Tarrytown, has appointed James Rosenbauer of Trumbull, CT, as its new executive chef. Mr. Rosenbauer offers a wealth of experience in fine dining, hotel and country club settings throughout the tri-state area.
Prior to joining Bistro Z, he served for the past two years as executive chef with the Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk, CT. In his position at the private golf and tennis club, he created new menus, developed budgets for staffing and expenses, and completely overhauled the kitchen and snack bar operations.
Previously, he was the executive chef for The Field Club of Greenwich, in Greenwich, CT, for eight years. While serving at the private tennis and racquet club, Mr. Rosenbauer designed and oversaw the completion of a total kitchen renovation.
In the five years prior, he was the executive chef and chef de cuisine for 44 Restaurant at The Royalton Hotel in Manhattan. During this time he successfully established an off-premise catering division, as well as supervised and trained kitchen staff.
Mr. Rosenbauer's background includes chef positions at an impressive array of New York City restaurants including: The River Caf'e in Brooklyn, working with Executive Chef David Burke; Rakel in Manhattan, with Executive Chef Thomas Keller; The Sign of the Dove in Manhattan, working with Executive Chef Andy D'Amico, and Hotel Plaza Athenne, Le Regence in Manhattan, with Executive Chef Daniel Boulud.
He is a graduate of The French Culinary Institute and The New York Restaurant School, both located in Manhattan. He has also served as President and Vice President of The Club Chefs of Connecticut.
