Phillip Gesue appointed Director of Global Real Estate for Orient-Express
MARCH 20, 2009 - Phillip Gesue was appointed Director of Global Real Estate for Orient-Express Hotels in March 2009, where initially, his key focus will be on the completion and sales strategy of Orient-Express' marina development, Porto Cupecoy on the Dutch side of St Martin, West Indies. He also oversees the Company's existing real estate activities, including those in New York, Charlottesville, Virginia and Mexico.
Phillip joined OEH from Time Equities, a Manhattan-based national real estate investor, where he was Director of Acquisitions and Development. During his career, he has been personally involved in the development and acquisition of over $1 billion in commercial and residential real estate and hotels, contributing to the revitalization of New York City's lower Manhattan, downtown San Diego, Los Angeles' Wilshire corridor, West Palm Beach, Kansas City and Boynton Beach.
Prior to joining Time Equities, Phillip was President and Partner of Biba Hotels, where he acquired and developed Hotel Biba, an award winning boutique hotel in downtown West Palm Beach. This historic renovation of a derelict 1940's hotel won national and international recognition.
Phillip received his Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
