Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile Completes Renovation
APRIL 16, 2009 - Today marks the completion of a $21 million, extensive property renovation at the Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile as over 16,000 square feet of private event space is unveiled. According to Armon Haagen, director of sales and marketing for the 500-room property, the transformation of 13 event rooms can now be enjoyed by those planning one-of-a-kind corporate events or social affairs. In addition to the hotel's numerous on site perks, guests now enjoy a brand new lobby bar, and the notable new MARKETHOUSE restaurant where the original menu marries Heartland basics with fresh, regional specialty ingredients from around the globe. The 160-seat upscale dining option and bar is adjacent to the hotel's lobby.

The private ballroom that accommodates up to 450 guests now offers fresh mint colored walls that complement the contemporary print carpet, rich mahogany trim, and sparkling crystal chandeliers. A private pre-function area is accessed by a dramatic, curving staircase. A new event space is available on the lobby level, while meeting rooms on the second floor offer privacy and convenience for break-outs or small conferences. The upscale Doubletree offers an array of impressive upgrades and a vivid urban design theme created by Los Angeles-based design firm, Cole Martinez Curtis & Associates. Other hotel improvements include all new guest rooms and suites, a stunning new entrance, and a rejuvenated outdoor pool and sun deck complete with a snack bar, H2O, for summertime refreshments and an Einstein's Bros.(R) Bagels.
