OpenTravel Alliance Introduces FastRez
Hosts Interactive LaunchCast with Industry Experts on 12 May 2009
MAY 11, 2009 - OpenTravel Alliance's newly launched FastRez, the first connectivity solution to seamlessly automate reservations for smaller hospitality companies, is now available for sale and OpenTravel will hold an interactive call-in show on 12 May 2009 at 10am US eastern time to introduce the product and answer any questions from the public.
'FastRez is a first for OpenTravel,' said John Lambe, chair of OpenTravel board of directors and CTO of OpenJaw Technologies. 'Using this internet-based platform will give anyone with questions about FastRez the opportunity to call in or post a comment and get them answered. We invite press, analysts, consultants, and any company in the hospitality industry to join us.'
The host of the call will be Mark Hoare, partner, The Prism Partnership, who has worked extensively in the hospitality distribution field. 'I think OpenTravel has hit the mark with FastRez,' said Mr. Hoare. 'It will level the playing field, allowing smaller providers to connect to their trading partners quickly and easily.'
Mr. Hoare will interview several participants during the show, including Mr. Lambe from OpenTravel, and Bob Lowe from Softbrands, a hospitality technology company and launch partner for FastRez.
'Suppliers like SoftBrands are constantly asked to develop interfaces to third-party systems based either on proprietary specifications, or to a third party's own implementation of the OpenTravel schema. This increases the cost of doing business and extends delivery times for our customers'' said Mr. Lowe, vice president of product management. 'We very much like the idea that we ask our trading partners to write to a specification that they can reuse in the widest possible community. Ultimately this allows all parties to quickly deliver more cost effective solutions to their customers, a win-win. We hope FastRez is the first of several interface specifications that OpenTravel will define for our industry.'
