Peru Press Conference at WTM - Peru's New Tourism Initiatives
LONDON, UK, November 1, 2005. As in previous years, Peru will be attending World Travel Market, 2005. A press conference will be held on November 15, at 12:30pm in the Platinum Room 6, 2nd floor, Excel.
In addition to outlining new guidelines to assist inbound tourism, the conference will detail new restrictions to protect and preserve Machu Picchu - including the annual closure of the Inca Trail from January to March to protect the archaeological sites. Plus outlining the undiscovered side of Peru, ideal for adventure sports such as mountain biking, trekking and surfing. This year Peru will be showcasing traditional folk culture on the World Stage on Thursday 17 November between 11.30am - 12.00am and 2.00pm - 2.30pm. This vibrant show will highlight diverse Peruvian dance and music and will be an unmissable part of the World Stage programme.
In addition to the World Stage presentation, there will be regular dance performances on the stand by Peruvian dancers (on 16 and 17 from 12.30am to 1.00pm and 3.30pm to 4.00pm), to reflect traditional styles and regional variations. Visitors to the stand will also be able to experience a flavour of Peru, with samples of Peruvian drinks Pisco Sour (Peruvian Brandy) and Algarrobina, at the on-stand bar throughout the show. Peruvian snacks will be served on the stand to accompany the drinks for the duration of the show. Stand LA 2000
