Ibis Chengdu's Incredible Offer

Great value-for-money rate at an internationally managed hotel

. October 14, 2008

BANGKOK, November 1, 2005. Accor's second Ibis hotel in China, Ibis Chengdu, recently opened in Chengdu's newly established Hi-Tech Zone and is offering an incredible rate of only 128 RMB++ (US$16) a night until 31 December 2005.

The hotel represents the beginning of rapid Ibis brand expansion across Greater China. During 2006 Accor plans to open new hotels in Qingdao, Wuhan, Tanggu, Jiangyin, Wuxi and Zhongshan, increasing the network to eight Ibis properties around the country.

Ibis Chengdu boasts 265 rooms, one restaurant and one bar to provide all business and leisure travellers with its worldwide reputation of simplicity, quality and value for money. The development is five kilometres south of city centre and 21 kilometres from Chengdu Shuangliu Airport.

The first Ibis project in China - Ibis Tianjin - has been performing so strongly, at occupancy levels of over 90% since opening the first quarter of 2004, that Accor is adding 70 rooms to that hotel.

Accor was one of the first to pioneer the launch of an international hotel brand in greater China that targets the local 'economy' sector of the market. And with domestic travel scheduled to grow five-fold by 2010 rapid brand expansion is expected. Accor believes there is a clear market need for quality, internationally branded accommodation in major cities, new economic zones, transport hubs and regional centres, and targets 10 new Ibis hotels a year starting from 2007.

Ibis is the world's most popular economy hotel brand, with over 650 hotels globally, including hotels in Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. Accor also plans to expand the brand to Thailand and India during 2006.
