ORLANDO, FL, November 2, 2005. The magnificent Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando recently celebrated the traditional topping off milestone and has now hired a well-respected incentive specialist as part of the sales team leading to the resort's Sept. 30, 2006 grand opening, according to Leslie Menichini, Rosen Shingle Creek, Director of Sales and Marketing. Industry veteran Patty Herder has been named Rosen Shingle Creek Director of Sales, Incentive and Automotive.

In her position, Patty will be responsible for the major incentive houses and automotive companies, where the amount of function space combined with the resort amenities at Rosen Shingle Creek are a perfect mix for large corporate groups. The Rosen Shingle Creek will boast over 250,000 square feet of meeting space, including -- at 95,000 square feet -- one of the largest column-free ballrooms in the country.

Patty brings more than 28 years of hotel sales experience and relationships built throughout the hospitality industry along with an exceptional knowledge and background of the Orlando marketplace that will be instrumental in filling the 1,500-room resort. Patty's expertise in opening resorts will be especially beneficial with Shingle Creek's opening just a year away.

Patty was involved in pre-opening sales for four Orlando-area properties including the Orlando Marriott World Center and the three onsite hotels at Universal Florida --Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and Royal Palm Resort. Patty spent 14 years at the Marriott World Center as director of corporate sales. More recently, Patty spent the past seven years as director of resorts sales with an emphasis in the incentive and pharmaceutical markets at the three Universal properties.

Patty graduated from Michigan State University in1977 with a degree in Travel and Tourism Management (HRIM). She then immediately launched her career through the management training program with Hyatt Corporation in Indianapolis, which ultimately led her to Central Florida. She learned the basics during her four years at the Hyatt Orlando in both convention services and sales. Patty then spent over two years as director of sales with Image International, a convention planning and service company based in Orlando, which led her to the Orlando Marriott World Center and Universal Florida.

"Patty is an incredible asset to our Rosen Shingle Creek sales team," says Leslie Menichini, Director of Sales and Marketing at Rosen Shingle Creek. "Opening a resort is a unique experience and with four openings to her credit, all with well-respected resorts in Orlando, Patty brings an incredible depth and breadth of knowledge to our team. Her background, industry knowledge and connections, along with high energy and enthusiasm will bring us to new heights as we move toward our opening."
