Sun Bee Named Director of Sales & Marketing and Dennis Maher, Director of Facility Operations at Out
HONOLULU, HI, November 1, 2005. Outrigger Enterprises, Inc. has filled two key management positions on its opening team for the Embassy Suites Hotel-Waikiki Beach Walk, a new all-suite hotel that is part of the company's $460 million Waikiki Beach Walk redevelopment. The hotel, which is owned by Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, will be operated by Outrigger under a franchise agreement with Hilton Hotels Corporation, parent company of Embassy Suites Hotels. Joining General Manager Robert Yeoman in the exciting task of opening Waikiki's first nationally branded all-suite hotel is Sun Bee, the newly named Director of Sales & Marketing, and Dennis Maher, Director of Facility Operations.
Sun Bee
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Bee is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive internal and external sales and marketing strategies and related plans to maximize market share, revenue and occupancy growth for this soon-to-open hotel.
Bee joins the Embassy team from her most recent position as Regional Market Director-Hawaii, Asia and Pacific for Orbitz.com, a leading online travel company that enables travelers to search for and purchase a broad array of travel products over the worldwide web.
Prior to Orbitz, Bee spent seven years in hotel operations with Outrigger Hotels & Resorts. In 1999, she was tapped by the company to be Product Manager for the then newly introduced OHANA Hotels & Resorts brand and was responsible for maintaining and incorporating brand standards throughout the company's various distribution channels.
Bee holds a Bachelor's degree in Travel Industry Management from Hawaii Pacific University.
Dennis Maher
As Director of Facility Operations, Maher is responsible for the operations and maintenance of all resort complex facilities of the new Embassy Suites Hotel-Waikiki Beach Walk, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs.
Maher has over 10 years of construction and remodeling experience. He most recently was Director of Engineering at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, where he coordinated a major $30 million renovation of the property. Prior to that, Maher served as chief engineer for the Aston Waikiki Shore and the Aston Coconut Plaza, as well as assistant chief engineer for the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower.
Maher is a certified engineering operations executive by the American Hotel Motel Association. He also is a certified pool manager by the National Swimming Pool Foundation and a licensed boiler plant operator by the International Society of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. He recently served as President of the Hawaii Hospitality Association Engineers Advisory Council.
