Emirates Unveils the Emirates Marina Serviced Apartments & Spa

. October 14, 2008

DUBAI, UAE, November 3, 2005. Emirates Group is expanding its presence in the hospitality sector with the launch of its latest project - the Emirates Marina Serviced Apartments & Spa.

Located at the prestigious Dubai Marina development, the five-star property will cater for both leisure travellers and corporate executives who wish to stay for short visits, or require extended stays in Dubai.

The Emirates Marina Serviced Apartments & Spa are currently under construction and are scheduled to be completed by September 2006, at a projected cost of US$81.7 million.

The fully-furnished serviced apartments will have panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, Palm Island and the Dubai Marina. Guests will be able to choose from a wide range of accommodation options including eight penthouse suites, 52 three-bedroom, 175 two-bedroom and 24 studio apartments.

A 'home-away-from-home', each of the apartments will boast a state-of-the-art in-room entertainment system that includes video on demand, international TV channels, internet access, and a DVD player, all viewable through a plasma screen, along with a music system. In addition to housekeeping services, guests can also enjoy 24-hour room service, access to a speciality cuisine restaurant, a Mediterranean delicatessen restaurant, a coffee shop and, for the calorie-conscious, a health food outlet.

For those who wish to de-stress and relax, an entire floor is dedicated to a spa featuring massage and beauty treatments rooms, along with a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi with a hydro bath. Guests can also get into shape at the high-tech gymnasium and terrace swimming pool.

Other comforts include a business centre, a wide variety of retail facilities, and 24-hour reception and concierge services.

This announcement is the latest in a series of developments Emirates is making in the hospitality sector. In June, it unveiled a luxury conservation resort in Australia's Blue Mountains - a UNESCO World Heritage site. The US$38.7 million Wolgan Valley - Emirates' first such property outside of the U.A.E. - will be one of Australia's most environmentally sympathetic developments, and is scheduled to open in 2007.

Wolgan Valley will be built on the same philosophy as the widely acclaimed Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai. Owned, managed and operated by the Emirates Group, Al Maha is the Middle East's only conservation-based resort.

Earlier this year, Emirates announced that it will build a new 5-star US$218 million luxury hotel in Dubai. When completed, the new 70-storey, 1,148 feet high building will be one of the five tallest hotels in the world. The Emirates Hotel will break new architectural ground with cantilever rooms projecting out of the building and over 50 sky terraces. The property will offer 560 deluxe rooms, 112 suites and one Presidential suite. Located on the city's Sheikh Zayed Road, each room will give guests unparalleled panoramic views of Dubai.

Emirates also owns the 218-room Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, situated on a superb stretch of the private Al Aqah Beach, in the picturesque emirate of Fujairah. The resort is particularly popular as a family holiday destination.
