Affina Hospitality General Managers Assume New Posts
NEW YORK, NY, November 17, 2005. Affinia Hospitality leverages its management team as veteran General Managers Tom Chamberlain, David McManus and Alvin Lopez each move to different hotels within the company's portfolio.
Tom Chamberlain, 46, joins Affinia Hospitality's luxury brand, The Benjamin, as general manager after overseeing all hotel operations at the Affinia Dumont for four years. While at the Affinia Dumont, Chamberlain directed the hotel's $15 million renovation and launched in 2003 as New York's first Executive Fitness Suite Hotel. At The Benjamin, Chamberlain will be responsible for management and development of the hotel's luxury positioning including the famed sleep program as well as further enhancements throughout 2006.
David McManus, 41, steps up as general manager of the Affinia Dumont after holding the same position at the Shelburne Murray Hill for two years. At the Affinia Dumont, he will continue to oversee the hotel's distinctive executive fitness positioning and operations at the 241-suite property.
Alvin Lopez, 46, ends his ten-year post as general manager of the Beekman Tower Hotel to join the Shelburne Murray Hill. As general manager of the Shelburne, Lopez will take on the responsibility of the hotel's rebranding as it continues its multi-million renovation to become the fifth Affinia-branded hotel.
