NEW YORK, NY, November 14, 2005. During the American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AH&LA) "Meeting for the Election of Officers," constituents elected a new secretary/treasurer to the association's board of directors. Thomas J. Corcoran, Jr., president and CEO of FelCor Lodging Trust Incorporated, was selected as the incoming officer and will serve as the association's chairman in 2008.

In 1991, Corcoran co-founded FelCor, one of the nation's largest hotel real estate investment trusts and the nation's largest owner of full service, all suite hotels. Prior to his current position, he spent 11 years with Brock Hotel Corporation and served as president and CEO.

"We are delighted that Tom has been selected as our new secretary/treasurer. His insight will be invaluable as we look to more efficiently achieve the many goals and core objectives of AH&LA, as well as the entire lodging community," said AH&LA President and CEO Joseph A. McInerney, CHA.

Other 2006 AH&LA officers include Chairman Joseph R. Kane, Jr., CHA, group president of Cendant Hotel Group and president of Days Inns Worldwide, Inc.; Vice Chairman Robert L. Steele, III, general manager of the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay; and Immediate Past Chairman Pedro Mandoki, CHA, owner and president of Mandoki Hospitality Group.
