Doubletree Hotel Nashville Celebrates Completion if $9.5 million Music City USA Makeover
Hotel Interiors Transformed Through a Marriage of Traditional Design Elements
NASHVILLE, TN, November 17, 2005. The Doubletree Hotel Nashville Downtown proudly announces the successful completion of a $9.5 million renovation. The extensive enhancement initiative included design, technology, amenity and service upgrades throughout the hotel - including the hotel's new main entrance, public areas, 337 guestrooms, a Starbucks(R) Caf'e, and more than 21,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event facilities.
The Doubletree Hotel Downtown Nashville is owned by Sun Rockpoint Nashville Hotel Lessee, Inc , operated under a franchise agreement with Doubletree Hotel Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corporation and managed by Sunstone Hotel Management, a division of Interstate Hotels & Resorts. The reinvigorated hotel design was completed under the direction of Roxanne Francy and Deborah Kercher from Dallas-based Design Force.
"This $9.5 million investment reinforces the Doubletree Hotel Nashville Downtown's commitment to be recognized by the world's travelers as one of the Nashville's premier, full-service hotels," said David Rijos, hotel general manager.
All 337 guestrooms have been extensively upgraded with a uniquely relaxing color palette of vibrant colors and classic design elements that have transformed the rooms into inviting and hospitable spaces. The hotel also welcomes travelers with the Sweet Dreams(R) by Doubletree Sleep Experience - which includes a plentiful amount of pillows, a luxurious linen package of a down-filled duvet wrapped in triple sheeting and a specially designed plush-top mattress and box spring system that ensures a great night's sleep. Guest bathrooms have been dramatically redesigned to include upgraded lighting, rich marble, wood and granite finishes, framed mirrors and a curved shower rod that allows for 20% more space in the shower.
Conveniences for business travelers include large workspaces with outlets at desk height, ergonomic seating, high-speed Internet access and remote, secure in-room printing services available in every guestroom. Wireless high-speed Internet access is available in public areas, along with a well-appointed business center for those last-minute needs.
The lobby and other public areas in the hotel have been redesigned to create a comfortable "living room" environment for a variety of events. Keeping an eye on emerging trends, many public areas in the hotel now draw attention to the view of the surrounding streetscape to associate the property with the adjacent businesses. It has been recognized by the community as an impressive focal point in the city's downtown area.
The 21,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event facilities at the Doubletree Hotel Nashville Downtown have been retrofitted with the latest in audiovisual technology including the 9,000 sq. ft. Cumberland Ballroom - one of the largest hotel ballrooms in downtown Nashville.
The Doubletree Hotel Nashville Downtown has decided to take its newly reinvigorated sense of contemporary style and comfort further than most typical hotel renovation projects, by transforming its lobby and public areas into a rotating art gallery with live, weekly live music events that showcase local talent in the art and music industry.
"With all of the improvements we've made, we truly believe that citizens of the local community also will appreciate the great lengths to which the Doubletree Hotel Nashville Downtown has gone to celebrate the sense of place we've created to welcoming all of our guests with the best blend of Southern hospitality and contemporary luxury in the heart of Music City USA," commented Rijos.
Centrally located at the corner of 4th and Union Streets, the Doubletree Hotel Nashville Downtown is within walking distance of the Nashville Convention Center, Municipal Auditorium, Gaylord Entertainment Center, Titan Stadium and numerous live entertainment venues, including the historic Ryman Auditorium.
