Benchmark Hospitality Appoints Brent Haste Controller at The Founders Inn
HOUSTON, TX, November 21, 2005. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Brent Haste as controller for The Founders Inn, a 240-guestroom property located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Bob Zappatelli, general manager, made the announcement.
"Brent offers a wealth of leadership experience and knowledge in the principles of financial accounting," said Mr. Zappatelli. "This together with his extensive background in hospitality will serve him well in his new role at The Founders Inn. We welcome him to Virginia Beach."
Mr. Haste brings more than a decade of successful hospitality management experience to his new role as controller for The Founders Inn. He was previously controller for Wyndham of Burlington, Vermont, where he was instrumental in converting the property to a decentralized form of accounting, enabling it to achieve complete compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley financial audit.
Prior to this, Haste gained the experience of working at a large center city hotel when he was appointed assistant controller of the Franklin Plaza, located in heart of Philadelphia. He has also served as assistant controller at Carmel Valley Ranch, a Wyndham Luxury Resort in Carmel, California.
Over the past decade, Haste served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, gaining operational experience in several departments, including financial accounting, and at hotels throughout the country,. His first position in hospitality was as a bellman for Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts in San Diego, which later became a Wyndham Hotels & Resorts property.
Although a native of Canada, Mr. Haste has lived most of his adult life in the United States. He is a graduate of Cuyamaca College of El Cajon, California, and Eastern Michigan University of Ypsilanti, Michigan. He and his family are relocating to Virginia Beach.
