The Travel Partnership Corporation Names Nancy Johnson to Board of Directors
WASHINGTON, DC, December 12, 2005. Executive Vice President of Select Service Hotels for Carlson Hotels World Wide, Nancy Johnson, has been appointed to the board of directors for The Travel Partnership Corporation (TTPC), a consortium of travel industry organizations representing all key segments of the industry, which will afford the travel industry its own dedicated domain on the Internet, .travel.
In her current role, Johnson is responsible for leading the brands of Country Inns & Suites By Carlson and Park Inn by serving as the brand champion and key contact for franchisee and partner relationships, leading orientation, training, and field service, as well as developing brand systems, processes and standards.
In 2004, Johnson spearheaded the idea to form a women's council through the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) that would specifically tackle women's issues in the industry. She is now chairman of the newly formed Women in Lodging Council for the AH&LA.
In 2002, Johnson received a Carlson Fellows award for individual sales achievement, Carlson's highest career achievement honor presented to employees who best exemplify the qualities of leadership, creativity and dedication and who are considered to be true builders of the company. She was also named one of the 200 Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel Agent magazine in 1999.
