Spinnato to Head Javits Convention Center
NEW YORK, NY, Janaury 4, 2005. Joseph Spinnato, president of the Hotel Association of New York City, has been appointed to head the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center here in an effort to expedite a planned expansion.
According to local reports, Spinnato, who will retain his role at HANYC, is a long-time member of the Javits board.
A $1.4 billion expansion of the center was approved a year ago, but has gotten bogged down in political infighting. A convention center hotel is part of the center's expansion plan, but its exact location remains undecided.
