Host Marriott Seeks to Add Maui Timeshare
BETHESDA, MD. Janaury 11, 2006. Host Marriott Hotels & Resorts is proposing to add a time-share building and pool at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort it owns in Ka'anapali, Hawaii, according to local press reports.
Host Marriott is preparing an environmental impact statement for the 12-story, 121-unit project, which involves redeveloping a four-acre site adjacent to the 806-room Hyatt Regency hotel. Currently, the site is used primarily as a parking lot.
The $110 million project is expected to take 20 months to complete.
The overall resort sits on 37 acres of oceanfront land on Ka'anapali Beach. Hyatt Vacation Ownership, Inc. will operate the proposed time-share project.
