Stewart is a strong believer in corporate responsibility. Through his employment and other activities he has forged strong links to government, business, and the arts communities and he encourages them to work together for mutual benefit.

Said Stewart, "IACC as an organization continues to grow its truly global base, and I am honoured to be leading the association globally it its 25th year." Stewart is eager to continue to drive the new initiatives set by his predecessor, Bob Johns who recently retired from the conference centre industry. These initiatives include the creation of five committees to recruit and involve current and new members on the IACC-Global Board of Directors. These new committees include Finance; Strategy; Benefits and Global Resources; Branding and Promotions; and Technology.

Stewart is also committed to pursuing the establishment of a Continental European Chapter to add to the already existing chapters in Denmark, Australia, Sweden, the United Kingdom and North America.

Celebrating its Silver Anniversary, the International Association of Conference Centers, founded in 1981, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and awareness of the conference center industry. Active members meet a stringent set of Universal Criteria and agree to a Code of Ethics. Currently, the association includes approximately 400 members from the United States, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, France, England, The Netherlands, Germany and Japan.
